29 Nov Yoga Therapy
Lots of people ask me what the difference is between Yoga Therapy and a Yoga class. A Yoga class can be therapeutic but it is not specific for any one student and their condition. A Yoga Therapist is specifically trained to assess a client and construct a practice to suit their individual needs. This takes many factors into consideration, along with research and time. The Therapist works with the client to create a practice using the tools of Yoga philosophy and principals, working towards creating a better state of health. It is a complimentary therapy that works well along side other health practices for a wide range of conditions.
Although Yoga Therapy in the west is an emerging field, the practices and principles of Yoga have been around for thousands of years and have had great success in creating better health.
Be sure when you attend a Yoga Therapy session that your Therapist has the correct training. This is beyond a Yoga Teacher certification.
If you think Yoga Therapy is something you would like to try please send us a message and we would be happy to chat with you further.
