What is Yoga Therapy?

Yoga Therapy is a complimentary therapy using an individualised approach working with Yogic Philosophies and Principals to help facilitate a client’s return to a better state of health.

How is this different to a Yoga class?

A Yoga Therapist will conduct a detailed assessment of the client taking into account their personal circumstances. This will include an initial consultation and assessment process.

From this initial consultation the Yoga Therapist will work with the client to create a program specific for their needs. This may be a daily personal practice and could   include Asana (physical), Prana (breath/energy), Meditation (mind) and be drawn from a number of Yogic Philosophies and Principals. This process is individual and specific for each client. We will also work in conjunction with a clients other health care professionals.

A follow up session allows the Therapist and client to assess what is working or what may need adjustment. Each step of the way working together to achieve the best outcome for the client.

Do I need to have Yoga experience?

No you do not need any Yoga experience. Yoga Therapy is for everyone no matter their level of Yoga experience.
